[2008-07-27] MRI- Making life easier for the people In their determination to keeping a happy and stress free lot, Med rescue International (MRI) was among the companies that took the 2008 Botswana Confederation of Commerce Industry and manpower (BOCCIM) Northern Trade Fair held under the theme ‘Making SMME’s Competent for Sustainable Economic Growth’ by storm.
Respondent by a positive audience, MRI took to the stalls with one thing in mind – to equip their clients with the new and efficient services on offer. It came as no surprise as MRI scooped position one in the services category.
Juggling between answering questions from this reporter and selling her products to the crowd, Acting Marketing Manager Tebogo Seremane said that most of the people were thinking that MRI is all about dealing with emergency evacuations only.
“But we are saying we are diversified entity aimed at making life easier for the people. We teach people first aid. And we have been urging people to have their maids conversant with first aid. In case a disaster struck while they are all out at work, the maid should know what to do in as far as saving life is concerned while waiting for the ambulance. And Batswana have been responding positively to this area,” said Seremane adding it is essential to be conversant with the Cardial Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Seremane said that in most incidents people lost their lives while in actual they could have survived if people had performed some first aid on them.
“We have got a situation whereby people are shy of discussing issues pertaining to HIV/AIDS face to face. And to cater for those people, we have come up with Ipoletse HIV line. Using this facility people can ask questions about the pandemic disease and get answers right away. And this can be done anytime of the day. This is a 24 hour service for your own information. We are champions in serving people’s lives in a remote control format,” said Seremane, further advising that her organization also offers wellness programmes to companies to avoid situations whereby employees’ check-ups while the job suffers.
