The BRVM closed its trading session on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, slightly lower than the previous day. The BRVM Composite index lost 1.50%, dropping from 233.64 to 230.13 points. The BRVM 10 index closed at 264.32 points down 1.78%. The value of the transactions was 310.6mn CFA francs, compared to the 243.77mn CFA francs reported last session. The number of securities traded climbed to 120,364. Stock market capitalization was 4,302,617,737,070 CFA francs while that of the bond market rose to 622,212,552,040 CFA francs. On the bond market, 5,120 bonds were traded for a total value of 51.20mn CFA francs excluding accrued coupons.
