[2008-06-13] KCB opens third branch in Uganda
Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) has opened a third branch in Uganda.
Group Chairman, Mr Peter Muthoka, said the new Mbarara branch would tap into the region’s business potential.
He said Mbarara District was known for agriculture, transport and cross-border trade.
He said the branch would devote resources towards financing the centre’s main economic activities to spur growth and create wealth.
"KCB has the capacity to meet all business needs in Mbarara be they maintenance of accounts, granting of loans and overdraft facilities as well as providing business advisory," Muthoka said during the official opening of the branch.
He expressed confidence that KCB Uganda subsidiary would contribute to the Group’s profitability.
"We are doing this through our network expansion programme to ensure our services are within reach and convenient for our customers to facilitate their transactions," Muthoka said.
Muthoka said the bank’s vision of becoming the best bank in the region would become a reality upon implementing one-branch bank network online services.
