[2008-06-23] Marshalls Woos Clients with New Service In a move to attract customers, car dealer Marshalls East Africa has launched a value-added service for its customers.
Called the Priviledge Club, it is free and customers will enjoy fixed prices on parts and labour, and diagnosis of mechanical breakdowns.
Managing director Marshalls East Africa, Mr. Nguvi Kitau said, "Customers will get a card on which they earn points which can be redeemed for any services as discount in any of our branches countrywide."
The Priviledge Club service will operate 24 hours. Mr. Kitau said the company has invested in renovating and upgrading stocking, tooling and diagnostic equipment.
Good training
The managing director added that the technical and service staff had undergone extensive training to enable them serve customers better throughout branches where Priviledge Club facilities exist.
Late last year, Marshalls ended one of the longest running franchises in the motor industry in Kenya with the brand name Peugeot which had been the face of Marshalls since the company started in 1960.
It had been in partnership with the France-based Peugeot since the 1960s. A few years ago, the brand marked a watershed in Kenya after the last Peugeot 504 model was sold.
The model struck a romantic tone with die-hard fans, most of whom bought their first car in the 1960s and '70s. The company's remaining franchises are for Tata - an Indian brand, KIA from Korea and Delta.
Marshalls has 11 branches and four dealers countrywide in Nairobi and in towns such as Mombasa, Nakuru and Eldoret.
