[2007-09-27]  Abridged unaudited results for the year ended 30 June 2007
Results
Group profit before taxation decreased from Rs 78.2M to Rs 68.2M whereas group turnover increased by 13% from Rs 1,560.0M to Rs 1,758.7M for the year ended 30 June 2007. The group profit before taxation for the year ended 30 June 2007 is arrived at after deducting costs of Rs 31.9M associated with the waste to energy project.
Earnings per share
The calculation of earnings per share is based on the profit attributable to shareholders of Rs 60,391,827 (Jun 2006: Rs 73,098,629) and the weighted average number of the shares in issue of 13,325,000 (Jun 2006: 10,939,643).
Dividend
A final dividend of Rs 1.25 per share (Jun 2006 : final dividend of Rs 1.00 per share) was declared on 28 September 2006 and paid in December 2006 in respect of the year ended 30 June 2006.
An interim dividend of Rs 1.00 per share (Jun 2006: interim dividend of Rs 1.50 per share) was declared on 30 March 2007 and paid in June 2007 in respect of the financial year ended 30 June 2007.
