[2008-05-07] Saudi Arabian CMA approves Jadwa Africa Equity
Freestyle Fund
Jadwa Investment has received approval from the Saudi Arabian Capital Market Authority to launch the Jadwa Africa Equity Freestyle Fund. The African continent provides some very exciting opportunities. A specialist international asset management team will be in charge of managing this Fund.
A number of African markets have provided some of the world’s strongest returns over the past three years, despite being perceived as historically too risky. Investors may be surprise to know that several African markets outperformed the major world indices during this period. Today much of Africa has undergone considerable change, and now offers investors the opportunity to invest in a growing universe of attractively valued companies.
Africa is widely perceived as poor and inefficient. But the best investment opportunities lie where perception differs from reality - where things are not as bad as they seem. Africa fits to that statement perfectly.
Mr. Ahmed Al Khateeb, Managing Director & CEO of Jadwa Investment said, “At Jadwa Investment, we have a professional team which employs its investment skills and experience to serve our clients. The team puts in strong efforts to discover the best investment opportunities, develop and offer them to our clients aiming to enhance their investment performance. We are bringing to our investors an opportunity that is special and not many international investors have been alerted to it as yet. We believe our investors will benefit from the early mover advantage and expectedly enjoy substantial gains.”
Mr. Fadi Tabbara, Head of Asset Management and CIO of Jadwa Investment, added, “We believe it is the opportune time to invest in Africa, which has experienced tremendous economic and political reform, and is now reaping benefits of its positive business environment”. He also added, “We truly believe in specialization, and that is the reason we have selected one of the best managers specialized in the African continent to sub-manage the Jadwa Africa Equity Freestyle Fund after a comprehensive study and analysis.”
Jadwa Investment is managing 12 investment funds and its total assets under management has reached SR4.3bn which ranks Jadwa as the top asset manager amongst the new investment companies.
