[2007-07-31] Tunisia's Banque de l'Habitat Q2 revenues up 17%
TUNIS (Reuters) - Banque de l'Habitat, Tunisia's fifth-biggest bank by market value, reported a 17 percent increase in second-quarter revenues as both its interest margin and commissions grew.
Revenues rose to 40.34 million dinars from 34.55 million dinars in the same period of 2006, according to a statement on the Tunis bourse Web site on Thursday.
Turnover growth of 16 percent outpaced an increase in operating charges of 14 percent. Outstanding credits grew 9 percent to 2.996 billion dinars.
Tunisian banks are making the most of accelerating economic growth in the North African country of 10 million.
