[2008-01-17] Dubai's Emaar Q4 profit at top end of forecasts (Dubai's Emaar Properties EMAR.DU said on Wednesday fourth-quarter profit rose 1.3 percent to 1.74 billion dirhams ($473.7 million), at the top end of analysts' forecasts.
Analysts' forecasts for fourth-quarter profit ranged from 1.46 billion dirhams to 1.8 billion dirhams, in a Reuters survey last month. [ID:nL28331557] The average of six analysts was for profit of 1.62 billion dirhams.
Shares of Emaar fell 4.6 percent on Wednesday, their biggest one-day fall in 10 months, ahead of the earnings announcement.
Emaar, which has joint ventures from India to Morocco, made 4.84 billion dirhams in the first nine months of last year, according to financial statements posted on the stock market regulator's Web site.
