[2007-10-03] Nile Breweries to Invest Sh120b
NILE Breweries is to invest over sh120b in a four-year expansion project, the managing director, Nick Jenkinson, has said, writes James Odomel.
"We invested over sh10b in capital projects last year, leading to 20% increase in brewery capacity. For this year, we have a budget of sh30b for capital expenditure," Jenkinson said during a media tour of their plant in Jinja.
He said Nile Breweries's contribution to the Government coffers had increased by 55% in two years from sh38.9b in 2004/5 to sh60.3b in 2006/7.
Jenkinson said a feasibility study for the new brew house and pack line was taking place.
Meanwhile, the company is to contribute $4m (sh7b) for construction of a waste water treatment facility.
