[2008-07-21] SBU launches e-statement Standard Bank has launched e-statement to ease access to bank statements by custmers. Under e-statement, the bank will send by e-mail statements showing transactions on customers’ accounts over a given period of time.
“Standard Chartered is today delivering on its promise to offer top quality service and innovative products. Customers will now be able to view their statements from the comfort of their living room, office, holiday resort or wherever they have access e-mail,” the Head of Consumer Banking, Mr Kasekende said during the launch of the product held in Kampala on July,14.
“Our customers will be able to access their statement immediately it is sent, rather than make a visit to the post or the branch to collect it.
The new arrangement will make it easier for customers to keep abreast of their account activity.” Mr Kasekende added.
He said the innovation would help customers to enjoy include greater levels of confidentiality since customers can choose to limit the access to their documents or computer and also further enhance convenience since bank statements would be easily filed and retrieved on the computer.
