[2008-06-23]  dfcu Bank to increase branches to 50
DFCU Bank is planning to grow its business this year and increase the number of branches to 50, the managing director, Juma Kisaame, has said.

Kisaame said in an interview that integration of the operations of dfcu Ltd with dfcu Bank in January had pushed the asset base to sh400b.

“Following integration, we are the fifth largest bank in terms of assets. This gives us scale, which we can leverage to make sure we become a significant player,” he said.

Kisaame said they plan to grow strong retail operations. “We are opening eight branches this year with four branches already open.”
