[2007-12-24] Goldstar Pays Claim GOLDSTAR Insurance has paid a sh10m claim to Master Group of Companies, the importers of electronic equipments, following a burglary at one of their warehouses.
"In March this year, burglars broke into Master Group's warehouse in Industrial Area Kampala and took off with electronic equipment worth sh11m," said Edwin Kajjuma, the Goldstar Insurance marketing manager.
He said the burglars gained entry after cutting through the iron sheets of the warehouse.
Kajjuma explained that it was important for businesspeople to base their business security plans on insurance.
Kajjuma stressed that there were several unforeseen circumstances in doing business that required every businessperson to have an insurance policy.
"It is important that people shift away from looking at houses, animals and other forms of property as a form of insurance to buying insurance policies because even fixed property faces a number of risks, like fire which can ruin it," he said.
