[2008-06-05] dfcu Bank, MoneyGram seal deal
DFCU Bank is going to provide MoneyGram services at all its branches.
Nikki Spottiswoode, the MoneyGram regional director, said during the launch of the services at dfcu Bugolobi: “Our aim has always been to bring our services closer to the people. We would like to have our networks penetrating towns and the rural areas.”
He said: “We know how essential a reliable money transfer service is for many people. We are glad dfcu agreed to add our service onto their product portfolio.”
Spottiswoode said MoneyGram has had a great reception and reputation in the market and he believes their extensive network would bring their services closer to people and build the brand to greater heights.
He said the MoneyGram services would expand to dfcu branches in Masaka, Kitgum, Lira and Pader.
Sam Kibuuka, the dfcu board chairman, said provision of MoneyGram services was a clear manifestation of improved services and he was optimistic it would be successful.
Other MoneyGram agents in the country include Bank of Africa, Stanbic Bank, Prime, Stanhope and Metropolitan forex bureaux and Uganda Finance Trust.
