[2008-05-20] Stanbic Bank has new MD
STANBIC Bank Zambia has appointed Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Investment Holdings(ZCCM-IH) chief executive officer, Joseph Chikolwa as their new managing director while chairman of the Bank Valentine Chitalu is retiring.
The current managing director Larry Kalala has been appointed chairman of the bank after Mr Chitalu’s retirement effective on August 30.
According to a statement made available to the Mail, Mr Chitalu, has decided to retire to pursue other business interests, after having served the bank in this position for over five years.
The statement said under the stewardship of Mr Chitalu, Stanbic embarked on many strategic initiatives that have generated long-term sustainable benefits to the future of the organization.
The statement issued by the Board secretary also said Mr Chikolwa is a seasoned banker who has held key positions in Zambia National Commercial Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.
Mr Chikolwa will commence his duties on July 1, 2008.
